Au mois d’août 2021, Lola Lafon passe une nuit seule au Musée Anne Frank d’Amsterdam, dans l’Annexe où la jeune adolescente vécut cachée avec sa famille et quatre amis, de juillet 1942 à leur arrestation le 4 août 1944. De cette expérience intime est né Quand tu écouteras cette chanson, un récit qui entrelace la vie d’Anne Frank, le cheminement identitaire de l’écrivaine, et le souvenir d’un adolescent victime du génocide cambodgien. Aujourd’hui, Mona Achache en propose une adaptation documentaire, avec la collaboration de Lola Lafon. Le temps d’une nuit de tournage, au fil d’une lecture, l’autrice revisite son livre et ses origines. A travers un mélange d’images hybrides, le film invite à un voyage introspectif et universel sur la liberté, la figure d’Anne Frank et la force de l'écriture face à l'oubli.
In August 2021, Lola Lafon spent a night alone in the Anne Frank Museum in Amsterdam, in the annex where the young girl lived in hiding with her familyand four friends from July 1942 until their arrest on 4 August 1944. From this intimate experience emerged Quand tu écouteras cette chanson, a bookintertwining Anne Frank’s life, the writer’s own journey of self-discovery, and the memory of an adolescent victim of the Cambodian genocide.
Today, Mona Achache presents a documentary adaptation in collaboration with Lola Lafon. Over the course of a single night of filming, through a reading, theauthor revisits her book and its origins. Blending hybrid imagery, the film offersan introspective and universal exploration of freedom, the figure of Anne Frank,and the power of writing in the face of oblivion.
